Congratulations to Shaylan Bennett in Year 9, who recently competed at the prestigious Bonville Champions Trophy held in Coffs Harbour. This invitation-only event is part of the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and Golf Australia Junior Order of Merit (GA OOM), with just 45 players qualifying by winning a Junior Golf Tour event during the 2023/24 season. Shaylan earned his place by winning the Greg Chalmers Classic at Shelly Beach in July.

Competing against older players aged 17 and 18 in the Bonville Champions Event, Shaylan delivered rounds of 82, 69, and 82 to secure an impressive 17th place overall. With three more years as a junior, Shaylan has plenty of opportunities ahead to qualify again and showcase his talent. Well done, Shaylan – an incredible effort and a promising future ahead!
