Year 12 Geography
25.07.22
The Year 12 Geography class visited Tamburlaine Organic Winery in the Hunter Valley last Wednesday to investigate wine making as part of their viticulture study.
During the tour, students gained an insight into the wine making process, from the vineyard through to the bottling stage. The group developed a greater appreciation for both the art form and science involved in one of Australia’s most important industries. Furthermore, the class got to explore parts of Pokolbin and terroir (sense of place), that make the Hunter Valley so good for wine production.
To complete the experience and reward a hard day of learning, the class enjoyed a delicious lunch at a restaurant. A special mention to Tom McHale and Mitchell Pink, who enjoyed the brisket.
A huge thank you to Mr Judd, who shared his expertise on the Australian wine industry with the students as they prepare for the Trial HSC.
