As Term 4 begins we see another group of students start their final exams before embarking on new endeavours. In only a few short weeks they will receive their HSC results, and many will find out if they’ve made it into that highly competitive uni degree of their dreams.
Before then, of course, we will be making Schools Recommendation Scheme offers on 10 November, so please remind students to lock in their SRS course preferences before the 3 November deadline.
Applications
Almost 59,000 undergraduate applications were submitted before the 29 September early bird application fee deadline. Applications are still open; however, students will now be paying the standard fee.
A common question from students who submitted their application by the early bird deadline but haven’t yet made their payment is whether or not they will have to pay a higher fee. The answer is no. As long as they submitted their application by 29 September, the fee will stay at $78.
Statistics
It’s always interesting to check the most popular course preferences at the early bird closing date. This year, the top three first preferences at 29 September were:
- Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine – full-time at UNSW
- Doctor of Medicine – full-time at Western Sydney University, Campbelltown campus/Charles Sturt University, Orange campus
- Bachelor of Business – full-time at University of Technology Sydney, City.
