Edmund Rice Education Australia Touchstone
Inclusive Community
As a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition, we are accepting and welcoming, fostering right relationships and committed to the common good and provide pastoral care that nurtures the dignity of each person as uniquely reflecting the image of God.
Mental Health Workshop for Parents
At St Edward’s, we are deeply committed to creating a supportive learning environment where all students feel welcome and cared for. Over the past two years, the majority of our staff have participated in a Mental Health First Aid course, facilitated by our qualified College Counsellors, Marcus and Terase. This registered course equips staff with the knowledge and skills to recognise and respond to mental health challenges among students. By the end of Term 2 next year, all staff members will have completed this important training, further demonstrating our dedication to staying informed about the factors affecting the mental health of young people and ensuring we are best placed to support our students.
In addition to supporting our students, we are equally committed to empowering our parents with the tools and knowledge to support their children’s mental health. To that end, Marcus and Terase will be hosting a Mental Health Workshop for Parents on Wednesday, November 27. With over 90 parents already registered, this promises to be an insightful and valuable event.
Year 12 Formal
The Year 12 Formal, held at the Crowne Plaza on the evening of Friday, November 15, was truly a memorable event. The graduating class, along with their partners and many members of staff, looked absolutely stunning as they celebrated in style. It was a wonderful occasion to mark the final farewell for this exceptional group of young men, who leave St Edward’s with great excitement and anticipation for the future.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Mrs Kellie Atkinson, our Enrolments and Community Liaison Officer, for her outstanding organisation of this important event. Her efforts ensured that the evening was a huge success and a fitting celebration of the Year 12 cohort’s achievements.
Compass Implementation
I recently informed families that we will be transitioning to a new school management system, Compass, in 2025. Over the next few weeks, I will share more details about the added features and benefits this new system will bring.
In today’s digital age, many of us rely on our mobile phones to stay organised and informed. One of the key features of Compass is the Compass App, which can be downloaded on any iOS (Apple) or Android device by searching for Compass School Manager in the App Store.
With the Compass App, you will be able to:
- Stay up to date with the school’s news feed
- Receive important messages from the school
- View your child’s timetable
- Access the school calendar
- Keep track of learning tasks
- Book Parent-Teacher Conferences
- Approve excursions and events
- Submit attendance notes
- View academic reports
We are excited about the convenience and functionality that Compass will offer, and we look forward to sharing more information with you in the weeks ahead.
Tuition Fees
All families were sent an email last week informing them that the 2025 Tuition Fees are now available on the College website. You can view the details by following this link: 2025 Tuition Fees
If any families have concerns about their ability to pay tuition fees, we strongly encourage them to contact the College Finance Team. They can reach the team by phone at 4321 6400 or via email on accounts@stedwards.nsw.edu.au to discuss their circumstances
