Minecraft Competition
25.11.24
During Terms 3 and 4 a team of Year 10 students participated in the Australian E-Sports League National Minecraft Build Challenge. Team from all over Australia were challenged to select a global challenge and effectively represent it through a Minecraft build.

Year 10 students Ruben Borg, Zane Everson and Xavier McNeill elected to tackle the issue of deforestation. Together they created a powerful Minecraft build that visually captures the devastating impact of deforestation. The barren landscape, punctuated by imposing factories and heavy machinery, emphasises the scale and consequences of human actions on natural habitats.

In addition to their build, the boys also put together a narrative video clip that enhanced their representation of deforestation and complemented their submission.

Their efforts and creativity were rewarded with a first-place finish, seeing them crowned as champions of the 2nd series of the National Minecraft Build Challenge. This was a particularly pleasing result as the boys were also required to complete several assessment tasks, exams and attend Year 10 camp during the competition window.
