Environment Portfolio: Making a Difference, One Action at a Time
24.02.25
At St Edward’s, we believe small actions create big change! Our Environment Portfolio is committed to promoting sustainability, mental health awareness, and overall well-being within our school community. In 2025 we look forward to promoting the following initiatives:

Trash-Free Tuesday has begun: Let’s continue to reduce waste by bringing reusable containers and cutting down on single-use plastics. Every small step helps protect our planet!

Clean4Shore: Kicking Off Week 5!  We’re joining forces with Jonno from Clean4Shore again this year, starting on 4 March as part of Cleanup Australia week. This hands-on initiative gives students the chance to remove litter and debris from our local waterways, making a real impact on our environment and protecting marine life. See Mr Gentle if you wish to get involved!

The Push-Up Challenge (4-26 June):  Raising awareness for mental health, one push-up at a time! Join us in pushing for a healthier mind and body while supporting a great cause.

Are You OK? Day (11 September):  A reminder that a simple conversation can change a life. Let’s check in on our friends and build a culture of support and kindness.

Movember:  Supporting men’s health, one moustache at a time. Whether growing a ‘stache’ or taking part in fitness challenges, let’s help raise awareness for men’s mental and physical health.

Solar Panel Initiative: Thanks to the leadership of students Harry Evans, Benjamin Weisbaum and Jonathan Lin, our school has installed solar panels to reduce our carbon footprint and promote renewable energy. A huge step towards a greener future!

Together, we can create a cleaner, healthier, and more supportive school environment. All students are encouraged to get involved, take action, and make a difference!
