ACU Guarantee applications now open
Applications for our early offer program, ACU Guarantee, are now open and will close on 16 September 2024.
ACU Guarantee is designed to help Year 12 students secure a place at ACU before they sit their final exams.
While successful applicants must still complete their exams, they can do so secure in the knowledge that their results from Year 11 meet our entry requirements. Students can also enhance their selection rank by including short personal statements that give ACU an insight into their personal circumstances and motivation for university study.
Applications are free and we strongly encourage your students to apply. They have nothing to lose and many opportunities to gain.
To support students during their application process, our 2024 ACU Guarantee: early offer application process and student panel webinar is now available for on-demand viewing.
At this webinar, current students share their application experience and what to consider when developing impact statements. Your students will learn how to apply, key dates and important information around offer rounds for our competitive courses.
SRS: applications, offers and preferences
This month we’re focusing on some important Schools Recommendation Scheme reminders and tips for you and your students.
SRS application and offer dates
- Application deadline:16 September
- Student ratings deadline (in School Access):29 September
- Course preference deadline:1 November
- First offers released: 8 November (November Round 1)
- Conditional offers converted to unconditional offers: from 23 December (December Round 2)
Navigating offers and preferences
In November Round 1, students can receive one unconditional offer and multiple conditional offers. To convert a conditional offer to an unconditional one, students must keep the course in their UAC preference list and meet the institution’s specified criteria.
- Students should always prioritise their dream course.In December Round 2, they won’t be penalised for ranking their dream course above a course for which they’ve received a conditional offer, even if an institution instructs them to list the conditional course as their ‘highest eligible preference’.
- If they miss out on their dream course, their next choice will be considered, and so on. Their conditional offer will be considered after the courses listed above it have been considered. If the conditional course is listed as their top choice, and they’ve met the conditions, they will receive the offer and not be considered for courses listed below it.

Early Entry Applications – Don’t forget to apply!
The University of Newcastle’s Early Entry Program is for domestic Year 12 students completing either the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or the ACT Senior Secondary Certificate (ACT SSC) in 2024.
Early entry takes into account your Year 11 results, allowing you to secure an offer before your exams begin. For those completing an IB in November, please ensure you are uploading your results for consideration in the rounds.
Important dates:
- OFFER DAY 1 – Round one early offers will be released on 5 September 2024 (for applications submitted by 29 August).
OFFER DAY 2 – Round two early offers will be released on 19 September 2024 (for applications submitted by 12 September).
OFFER DAY 3 – Round three early offers will be released on 4 October 2024 (applications closed for Current School Leavers on 26 September).

TAFE NSW and South Sydney Rabbitohs
I wanted to share an amazing initiative between TAFE NSW and the South Sydney Rabbitohs open to your school leavers ONLY, who are interested in the Sports Industry.
- The name of the program is The Rabbitohs Institute of Sports Management, delivered by TAFE NSW and an Information Session/first Open Day is schedule for next Thursday 8 August on Game Day – Rabbitohs vs Storm.
