A Day in the Life of St Edward’s
Year 6 students arrived at St Edward's College, where they were warmly welcomed by enthusiastic teachers and Year 10 student helpers.
Over 250 students from more than 30 schools gathered in our hall, the Edmund Rice Centre, where they received a heartfelt welcome from our Principal, Mr Bonnici.
The day was filled with a variety of engaging activities carefully crafted to provide Year 6 students with a glimpse into life as an 'Eddies' young man. These activities included:
Science: Students engaged in captivating demonstrations designed to ignite their curiosity and passion for the sciences.
Art: In the Art room, students explored their creativity and honed their skills under the guidance of their teachers.
Music: Led by music teachers and student musicians, the boys had the chance to experiment with musical instruments and participate in a brief performance.
Woodwork: In the woodwork room, students acquired fundamental woodworking skills, crafting a simple project through hands-on experience.
PDHPE (Physical Development, Health, and Physical Education): This session emphasised physical activity and teamwork.
Library Learning Centre: Students delved into the College’s library, discovering the array of resources available to support their learning and research.
Following this dynamic and enriching event, students bid farewell to their teachers and the Year 10 group helpers, brimming with excitement and anticipation for their educational journey ahead.

Founders Day 2024
Founder’s Day 2024 - A Call for Donations
As we approach the much-anticipated Founder's Day of 2024, a tradition that not only celebrates our roots but also embodies our commitment to community and social responsibility, we are reaching out with a special request that holds the promise of transforming lives far beyond our school gates.
This year, our Founder's Day celebration is dedicated to a cause that resonates with the very essence of empowerment and education. We are proud to partner with the Women for Women Refuge in Kenya, an organisation that stands as a beacon of hope for many, providing shelter, support, and, most importantly, educational opportunities to women and children who have faced unimaginable challenges.
Among the lives touched by this remarkable organisation is Frederick, a young student whose aspirations and dreams are being nurtured through the sponsorship facilitated by our community's generosity. Frederick's journey is a testament to the transformative power of education and the ripple effect it can create across communities.
In line with our Founder's Day spirit of giving and community service, we are calling upon the generous hearts within our school and the broader community to contribute donations that will be presented as prizes for raffles to be conducted on the day. These raffles are not just games of chance but a means to rally support and raise crucial funds that will directly contribute to the educational sponsorship of Frederick and potentially other students like him.
We welcome donations in various forms - be it products, services, or vouchers - from individuals and companies alike. Participating businesses will receive the benefit of advertising throughout the day and in the weeks leading up to the event, offering a unique opportunity to showcase your commitment to social responsibility while gaining visibility within our engaged and supportive community.
Here's how you can make a difference:
Donate a Prize: Contact Alex Rozario (Leader of Justice, Peace, and Advocacy) at arozario@stedwards.nsw.edu.au with details of your donation. We welcome all contributions, big or small.
Spread the Word: Share our call for donations with friends, family, and colleagues who might be interested in contributing or participating.
Together, we can create a legacy of support and empowerment that transcends borders and changes lives. Let us come together to make this Founder's Day a milestone in our collective journey of giving back and fostering hope for a brighter future.
With heartfelt gratitude
Alexander Rozario
Leader of Justice, Peace, and Advocacy

Our Adventurous Year 9 Campers
The camp proved to be an immensely enjoyable experience for students and staff.
The students exhibited commendable behavior throughout, displaying remarkable engagement in the many activities on offer. With the weather favouring the occasion, being warm and dry, much of the downtime was spent along the banks of the tranquil Goodradigbee River that meandered nearby the campsite.
The array of activities provided a diverse and enriching experience for all and were appreciated by all participants.

The Latest News from the Religious Education Faculty
Our newly refurbished school Chapel officially opened its doors this year. This small place of worship is a space that all students are welcome to attend.
It has been designed to be interactive so that students can touch, feel, taste, and see the symbols of Christianity and be inquisitive. The students can see the icon of Blessed Edmund Rice and discover the story of his life within this beautiful icon.
Students, throughout the year so far, have been using this space for classes, meditation, and prayer.
The chapel is also open at lunch times for students to come and relax, eat lunch on the patio, and also have time out of the busy school playgrounds.
This term, the Chapel and surrounding areas will also host many of our staff's wellbeing activities.
I would like to thank Mrs Rankin and her entertainment class for the wonderful video they have developed on our beautiful Chapel.

2025 admissions
Applications for 2025 entry open on 3 April for domestic students. UAC will email UAC PINs to all NSW HSC on 3 April. Students will need their NESA number and their UAC PIN to apply through UAC.
Access schemes
When applications for admission open, so will applications for the Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) and the Educational Access Scheme (EAS). This year there are a few changes.
SRS application changes
The SRS application is now part of the undergraduate application, similar to EAS. Once a student submits their undergraduate application, they can follow a link to SRS: there will no longer be a standalone application accessible from the UAC website.
Students will be asked to confirm that their school name is correct. If a student needs to upload their Year 11 results, they will be prompted to do so.
UAC Digital
LIVE webinar for parents
Our first LIVE webinar for the year is specifically designed for parents supporting their student's journey to higher education. Parents will learn how to navigate the application process more efficiently so that they can confidently guide students towards their university dreams. They'll receive valuable insights on course preferences, adjustment factors and selection ranks plus a detailed timeline of key dates.
This UAC Digital event will be run from several platforms, including Easy Webinar (our preferred webinar service), Facebook and Instagram. Please share the link below with parents so that they can register.
